INTERIM CO-ED NEWS
- ED Transition: Lara starts on Monday, March 6! By now everyone will have been scheduled for individual meetings with Lara to meet and check-in with her. It will be an opportunity to share some highlights about your work as she gets to know you and your role in the organization.
- Thank You’s: I, Liliana, thank you all for your incredible work maintaining and growing the services over the past year while we searched for a new ED. I appreciate all of your support and thought partnership as I navigated the role of interim ED.
- Staff Gathering: At the last staff meeting, those attending filled out a survey to provide input on the staff gathering discussion and activities. If you have not had a chance to do so, you can do so USING THIS LINK TO THE SURVEY
PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENTS

- NYIC VISTA: Internationals applied to the New York Immigration Coalition to bring on a one-year VISTA (AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America) to provide support on resource development on the program team. If approved to bring on the VISTA, the VISTA would start in August/September 2023 and work with us for 12 months.
- The Bay Area is kicking off many of our services this month. Coaching has already started for WCCUSD, the first leader meeting is scheduled for March 3rd, and our first of 3 in-person PDs will happen this month.
- National Leadership Retreat: Happening in the Bay Area on April 27-29
RESEARCH
- College enrollment! Khalia, Dennis and Marguerite have been working on exploring the postsecondary pathways of the NYC Internationals graduates of 2023. In partnership with AMA consulting, we have created this dashboard to show Fall 2022 enrollment by NYC high school. Take a peek!

- Global Language Advocacy Day was Feb 22 2023. Inspired by 40 years of advocacy for language justice by the Joint National Committee for Languages (JNCL) and the Canadian Language Advocacy Day (#LAD21) the Global Coalition for Language Rights hosted #GLAD22 or Global Language Advocacy Day 2022: a worldwide event designed to inspire a change of attitudes, behaviors and beliefs around language rights and linguistic justice.
